The Parsippany mother who was diagnosed with Stage III cancer in her first trimester, proceeded with cancer treatment and gave birth to a healthy baby girl in 2003 died at her Parsippany home Sunday, according to her sister, Marybeth Doyle.

The next installment in our Pilates basic mat series is one of my favorites because it's a feel-good exercise for the back and abs. If you've been following the workouts, this exercise comes at the end of a series of ab- and back-strengthening moves and is meant to stretch those contracted muscles.

How's this for a New Year's resolution? Try something - anything - other than the workout you're doing now. If you enjoy walking, try snowshoeing. If you enjoy swimming, try training for a triathlon. If you enjoy sitting on the couch, try sitting on a bike instead (preferably while working the pedals). You might find yourself toasting a healthier you in 2007.
