As part of the Holiday Dinners Around the World display put up by McDill Elementary fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students, Student Council President Jessica Timerman researched the foods of Ghana, while others learned about Hmong, Italian, French, Spanish and Chinese holiday foods.
Nancy and Gary Wendt planned on preparing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing and the usual late November fare. According to an American Farm Bureau Federation study, dinners like the Wendts are affordable, costing less than $4 per plate for a 10-person meal.
